Havasupai Falls....

Josh and I got to go on an awesome vacation to Havasupai falls in Arizona. It's by the Grand Canyon down in the bottom. It is owned and run by the Supai indians. My parents watched the girls so we could go!!
We started out by driving to Arizona. Kind of a long drive, but we had fun talking and laughing with each other. We got in late and when we were almost there we were seeing tons of huge bull elk and cows on the road. It was really awesome to see the elk that close. We found out that the indians sell tags in that area between $25-75,000.
We got to the top parking lot at midnight and decided to just sleep in the car, bad idea!!! It was the worst nights sleep and I think we both hardly slept at all. We got up at 5am and got ready for our hike. We started hiking at 6:00 with our heavy packs which had everything we needed for the next few days! We hiked 8 miles to the Indian village and checked in and then another 2 miles to the campground. I was pretty tired from carrying that heavy pack! We arrived at the campground and found a great spot! We rested a bit then went off to explore the beautiful waterfalls!!

This was a 5 mile hike to Beaver falls. It was a beautiful hike, most of it being through the water!!

This was our favorite place to swim!

Looks like the Caribbean doesn't it??
Because of the minerals in the water it is crystal clear blue!

Navajo falls!!

Havasupai falls!!

The Indians get all their supplies by pony express and what they can't get on horses or mules they take in on helicopters!
This is where the horses/mules load and unload mail and deliveries!

Some of the Supai village! It was kind of neat to see how they live. We hiked a couple miles to the village one night to get some food at the cafe! We were exhausted and it was nice to have a hot meal.

Here we are ready to hike!!

We also loved swimming here.

We had fun jumping off the falls here!!

This is our camp.... We pretty much ate mountain house meals, but when you're hungry they taste awesome.

These guys were everywhere!!! Just glad we didn't see any snakes.

This hike was awesome, but also a little scary! We hiked down this small cave and then as we hiked down we had to hold on to chains or else you would fall(100ft). At first I kind of freaked out, but I just tried to not look down and then I actually really enjoyed it!

There was actually an LDS church down there, which is pretty cool!

What an amazing vacation that Josh surprised me with. We were exhausted by the end from all the hiking and not much sleep, but it was so much fun and such a great adventure. We figure we hiked somewhere around 40 miles in 3 days!!

That is so fun! We've been saying we want to do that for a while now too!
