November/ Natalie's wedding

Josh took Bent on a little date to the Riverwoods and the did the ropes course. She wasn't scared at all of how high up they were!  Stetson loves to be outside any chance he gets!

Josh and I headed to AZ for Natalie's wedding! We stayed with some friends for one night and enjoyed a morning run together! Then we headed off for all the festivities for the wedding! Everything turned out so great and the weather was amazing! We are so happy for Natalie and her new hubby, Alex!

Now that's what you call food prep! Holy mess......
Raegan loves to help me in the kitchen and we enjoy making homemade plato!

Ragnar Las Vegas

I had my first Ragnar experience and it was pretty dang fun! The group of girls I went with were so fun! I just love them all! We flew to Las Vegas, got a hotel and then got started on our running! My first leg was at 1:00 in the afternoon. It was super hot! It was 6 miles and I thought I'd be ok, but the heat got the best of me! I was throwing up and felt super weak! My friend Brooke hopped out of the car and started to run with me just for the support to get me through! It was so dang hard!! I made it through, but ended up getting heat stroke! I was freezing, nauseous and felt like crap! My next run would be at the same time the next day, but 8 miles instead of 6. So my friend traded me for her run. I ran at 4 am instead which was a much better experience other than being scared to death to run by myself. I did have my taser just in case!  And my poor friend ended up getting super sick the next day from running in the heat. I felt so bad that she traded me, but so grateful too!

WE had a blast cheering each other on, getting no sleep, dancing on the side of the road, and getting our carbs in! What a fun and hard experience!

And Josh is such a good dad! He took the kids swimming while I was away and had some fun dad bonding time.

This is when I was dying! My friends came to my rescue after I ran up this big hill and sprayed me with water and got me a drink!

Halloween!

This kid..... So funny and so cute!

We had a low key halloween! We decorated pumpkins with our neighbors outside! The girls had halloween parties at school! We had a party at my parents house and then we did some trick or treating around the neighborhood! The weather was perfect!!

Nicole's Deer hunt 2016

WE didn't have much time this year to spend on hunting! We decided last minute to go up for the night just on the mountain behind our house! Mike and MaryJane watched the kids so we could go! It was a hard hike up, but a beautiful one! We got to the top just at dark. We spotted a couple bucks, but couldn't tell how big they were! We decided to set up camp and then go look for them in the morning!  We had our mountain house meal and got some sleep! In the morning we hiked out and spotted a buck. We watched him for quite awhile. We snuck over to the ridge across from him. Josh put his pack on the ground and then I layed down with the gun on the pack for stability! I was super nervous to pull the trigger! I shot and missed, but the deer stayed so I shot again. I got a good shot and he went down. It was far away though and we saw a deer run off. I was so nervous that it was the deer I had shot. What if I hadn't made a good shot? We hiked over to try and find the deer in the brush! We found a blood trail in the snow and then we found him!

He was a good 4 point, but part of his antler had been broke off. That was a bummer! Now the real work started..... I helped(more watched) Josh clean the deer and cut out all the meat! I was grateful he had gloves for me! This took hours and now we had a 5 mile hike out. Josh had all the meat in his pack and I had to carry all the stuff in Josh's pack! It was a super tough hike out! Josh's legs were cramping and I just couldn't wait to get home! This was a short hunt, but a successful one! And of course the memories are what really matter! I love when I get to be in the mountains with Josh!
